SKA was founded in Boston in 2017 with a simple philosophy: listen to what our clients need, then continue to evolve.
What began with two beauty spaces grew into three hair locations and eventually evolved into an elevated hair salon experience focused on personalized cutting, color, texture, and healthy hair.
As more clients began coming to us with concerns about hair thinning, hair loss, scalp sensitivity, dryness, oiliness, and overall scalp health, our founder traveled throughout Asia to study professional scalp care, scalp analysis, and traditional herbal approaches.
That journey became the foundation of SKA Scalp Management—a personalized approach that combines detailed scalp analysis, science-informed care, Asian herbal traditions, and professional scalp treatments in a calm, welcoming environment.
Our love for herbs, nature, and relaxation eventually inspired the creation of the SKA Head Spa.
Rather than treating Head Spa as simply a relaxing scalp massage, SKA brings together scalp health and a five-sensory wellness experience through touch, aroma, sound, water, botanical elements, and intentional relaxation.
Today, SKA has evolved into a Boston destination for Hair, Scalp Care, Head Spa, Skin Care, Face Yoga, and Relaxation.

SKA offers professional scalp consultations and scalp analysis using 50x and 200x magnification, allowing us to take a closer look at scalp condition, buildup, oil balance, dryness, sensitivity, and other visible concerns.
From there, we create personalized scalp care recommendations based on what we observe and what you are experiencing.
Our approach is non-medical and science-informed, combining professional scalp care with selected Asian herbal traditions in a comfortable environment that feels personal—not clinical.

Our Face Yoga philosophy was developed after our founder studied traditional Japanese Kogao-inspired facial techniques in Japan. Through specialized hands-on techniques, the experience focuses on releasing facial tension, reducing the appearance of puffiness, and supporting a naturally lifted, refreshed appearance.

Our South Boston location features nine private treatment spaces, allowing us to welcome groups of up to nine guests at the same time. Our Head Spa experience is relaxing, sensory, and requires no downtime, making it easy to enjoy as part of a full day in Boston.
After your treatment, take your time in our comfortable personal styling area, where guests can refresh their hair and experience Dyson styling tools and premium hair care products before heading back out.
